    ❓More about this lesson
Hebrew writing is a skill you need to practice on your Hebrew path and the best way to do it is by repetition. You will also find this lesson educational even if your interest is to learn the biblical Hebrew alphabet, ancient Hebrew alphabet, and modern Hebrew.
Print letters will usually be seen in books and newspapers while handwriting, well, pretty obvious when people write notes and informal papers. There are some companies' logos that contain handwriting letters for artistic purposes.
The Hebrew language can be non-intuitive for some, but it all comes down to a list of rules you need to understand and memorize, and of course, practice.
Before we continue, Hebrew lessons on this channel are usually part of a Hebrew series where you can watch more related lessons. Don't forget to check out the playlists.
Also, Hebrew handwriting practice is very important for any Hebrew learner, a beginner, and an advanced learner.
Hebrew letters are not complicated to master and memorize, it is all a matter of practice. Hebrew can be easy to learn with the right motivation and resources.
Letters create words, words create sentences, and so on.
Letters are the building block of reading and writing a language.

@@despinafot Hi, you can see the letters in 2 forms: Print and Handwriting. That doesn't mean that I can't with the print form, but it is less common. Children do that when they start learning writing.
Unlike in English where you may see a mix of letters as in Mother (starts with a capital, the rest is handwriting ), in Hebrew, we do not mix the forms.

Cool video....Hebrew is such a holistic minded language...עברית היא שפה כה אופקית כל כך
Merci Ben: to write even read cursive is a must for understanding better modern Hebrew...
I was born in France and speak English but that is because I spent more than 12 years in all in the USA and now 17 in the UK and have a wife and Daughters who are British...but...English is cool but limited after a while in any country that do not use it as a first or second official lingo. That is logical as each language has got is specialities but limits. My French and Latin American lingos (they are kind of different per country in Central and South America) which are in my studies Mexican and Costa Rican, do open many doors that the English language alone cannot.
By the way I am refreshing beginner Hebrew and now am studying it seriously but with fun as it shall be now my final choice as another lingo to know at a high enough conversational level later on. I adore Krav Maga principles (the original ones of the 1940's) to repel bullies, also the Jewish cool stuff like Yom Kippur, the beautiful calming calligraphy, the holistic vibrational sounds of its alphabet and sounds. It is remarkable that Hebrew is a revived language spoken by now more than 10 million (2019 number) and that more people in the world is learning it since this new century. A language unites its people and communities using it in the world.

Hello! My name is Hebrew and I was wanting to get my name designed and tattooed, however I wanted the Hebrew to be written vertically and in cursive. I’ve searched and searched and just cannot find a source that will generate my name ( עֲטָרָה ) into a correct cursive format. If possible, are you familiar with a site that will do this correctly or if it is even possible to create a cursive version of my name? Sorry if my message is confusing!

    • @HebrewWithBen
      @HebrewWithBen  4 года назад +1

Hi Atarah, thank you for asking. I don't know any Hebrew cursive writing generator for that matter. It is also not common to write vertically in cursive Hebrew, though it is possible. You can try ms-word or office libre. Those text editors usually provide a variety of Hebrew fonts, including cursive. Let me know how it works for you.

      Great question:)
Usually, children do that when they first learn how to write. If you are a beginner, it is absolutely OK. Technically, you can continue using print letters further on. But - It is common to use the hand-written version when writing, and print when typing (computer keyboard, newspaper, etc.).

Hi, thanks for your feedback. At this point I can not do anything about it. RUclips limitations :(.
      Try this one:ruclips.net/video/Y1Z8e5GJ2nA/видео.html
It has voice and all the letters.
      Good luck!
